We are looking to fill the position of Casual Bus Driver as soon as possible following the advertisement and recruitment process. This role is ‘ON-CALL AS REQUIRED’ and will involve filling in for absent bus drivers while school is in session. Current Collective Agreement with Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 723 sets the salary scale for this post. Job Duties and Overview:

• You need to have driven a bus or a commercial vehicle for at least two years during the last few years.
• Carry a valid Class 2 driver’s license in British Columbia, with an airbrake endorsement;
• Possess the necessary physical fitness to handle ALL aspects of bus driving;
• Know the ins and outs of operating a bus, as well as the necessary procedures and tools;
• Required skills include fluency in written and spoken English and completion of high school.

Eligibility Criteria/About the Candidate

• Performs all duties associated with operating a bus;
• offers a secure setting for pupils when they ride the bus;
• uses protective driving techniques and safe driving techniques;
• keeps in good standing with the school’s leadership, faculty, and student body;
• takes responsibility for keeping their car in good working order;
• Performs tasks based on written or verbal instructions and standard operating procedures;
• Transport vehicle maintenance and cleaning responsibilities; and
• Helps out highly trained mechanics and handles various tasks in a similar vein
