Job Duties and Overview:

• Physically clean the entire facility, including using industrial-strength cleaning equipment.
• Lift and relocate office furniture and equipment using platform lifts to make room for cleaning
• Carry out tasks related to waste management, such as collecting, sorting, and disposing of trash and recyclables.
• Properly clean and maintain the premises by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, scrubbing woodwork, tiles, walls, and ceilings; remove graffiti; clean inside windows, light fixtures, and vents; clean washrooms; and restock supplies.
• Unload trucks, lock doors, turn off utilities, and report broken machinery; these are all examples of general services.
• Keep track of cleaning items used, store them securely, and ask supervisor to get more as needed.
• Oversee, direct, and educate a subset of inmates as they carry out housekeeping duties
• Also, other tasks may be assigned

Eligibility Criteria/About the Candidate

• You are well-versed in and have practical expertise with various industrial cleaning procedures.
• Industrial floor polishers, vacuum cleaners, and other tools and machinery are within your wheelhouse, and you know how to use them safely and effectively.
• For the safe handling of chemical solutions and the assurance of safe cleaning procedures, you possess knowledge of health and safety
• (including WHMIS and applicable legislation and regulations).
• You have proven that you can read and follow company policy to keep everyone in the office, including other employees and inmate volunteers, safe.
