We are looking for a technician with experience servicing flow meters and other types of instrumentation for field work. The Edmonton office is advertising the role. Position duties will include giving assistance with goods like:

Rosemount Process and Inventory Level Products; Rosemount Vortex and Mag flow meters; Rosemount Pressure and Temperature transmitters; Fluenta Flare Meters; Truck Unloading Systems; Rosemount Remote Terminal Units (FB107, FB1100/1200, FB3000, Bristol); and many other industry-specific measurement and analytical solutions.

The training provided for this function will consist of formal factory training, mentorship, and partnering or shadowing with experienced Field Service Specialists.

Job Duties and Overview:

• Help our internal and external sales teams with technical application and implementation questions and concerns
• Collaborate with Spartan’s sales teams to develop and roll out innovative measurement solutions.
• Putting novel ideas through their paces in the lab before sending them out into the field.
• Our clients can count on prompt, dependable, and on-demand onsite service.
• Device failures are assessed and fixed on-site.
• Evaluation of Results
• Troubleshooting in software and in production processes
• Assisting with customers’ measurement instrument product setup and commissioning needs
• Coordinating the launch of a new business with clients and internal “Spartans.”
• Supervising and conducting testing of third-party interfaces
• Including measurement devices such as flow meters in a customer’s existing infrastructure and processes
• Resolving Problems
• Calibration and documentation

   

• Assess current maintenance practices and instruct client operations and maintenance staff on how to improve
• Tackling any problems or worries with operations
• Check the system’s condition and make sure everything is working as it should.

• Assess, calibrate, and fix a wide range of measurement and analytical products in-house.

   

• Teaching classroom-based seminars to clients on analytical tools offered by Spartan
• Providing our sales teams with technical information and leads to help them close more deals.
• Offer digital and telephone-based technical support services
• Camp rotation duties may be necessary on occasion.
• Be on call seven days a week (around three to four one-week shifts each year).

Eligibility Criteria/About the Candidate

• Prior knowledge of the Flexim clamp-on flow meter is a plus.
• Instrumentation technician with a certificate of completion from a 2-year program or Journeyman Instrument Certificate; prior field service experience with instruments is preferred.
• Superior problem-solving abilities

   

• Competence in dealing with customers
• Able to work well with others and maintain order under pressure

• Having an entrepreneurial spirit
• Light instrumentation lifting is required.
• Required skill: color vision
• Possess a valid driver’s license, excellent driving record, and be open to substantial travel within Alberta.
