  • USD 15–20 per hour

Job Duties and Overview:

  • Every 10 seconds, you proactively check your designated coverage area, and it takes you no more than 20 seconds to reach the farthest point.
  • Lifeguards should do a thorough bottom scan of their respective zones at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Place oneself such that the view of the pool bottom throughout the area of duty is not obstructed by glare, building components, or floating play devices.
  • Security should either (1) sit on a stool at the water’s edge or (2) remain within a foot of the edge at all times while on patrol.
  • According to the “5 Minute Strategy” established by Jeff Ellis & Associates, you should switch positions every five minutes.
  • The pool area should never be left unattended.
  • Always be “Rescue Ready” (feet flat, fanny pack on, rescue tube in front of or to the side of your body, slack in your hand, and a whistle in your mouth).
  • Take part in monthly in-house trainings and mock drills, as well as any other drills that may be required internally. Treat all mock emergencies as if they were real.
  • If the pool is hazardous, close it and tell a manager right away. Please observe the Association’s policy regarding thunder and lightning.
  • Communicate with members in a responsible and professional manner.
  • All youngsters under the age of 14 must take a swim test and be marked in accordance with the standards set by the organization.
  • Maintain a friendly and consistent policy of enforcing all pool rules.
  • Follow the down tasks for each branch and/or other chores while not actively lifeguarding to help keep the facility clean.
  • Make sure that all YGBW regulations followed.
  • Carry out any further tasks that may required.

Eligibility Criteria/About the Candidate

  • Age requirement is at least 15
  • Valid Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Certification or the ability to transfer your Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Certification
  • First Aid, Oxygen Administration, Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer
  • Participate in Ellis & Associates’ monthly training and scanning skills in-service sessions as needed,
