Job Duties and Overview:

• Using tractors, snowplows, street sweepers, dump trucks, and skid steer loaders among other specialist vehicles.
• Operating the rotating brushes and water spray controls while filling the street sweeper’s water tanks.
• Be careful when you’re operating in tight areas or on busy streets.
• Removing pollutants, snow, and other debris from sidewalks and streets.
• Keeping implements like hydraulic lines and brush hogs firmly attached to vehicles.
• Performing routine maintenance on street sweeper vehicles and equipment.
• Notifying upper management of any event or mechanical breakdown.
• Making use of proper signaling and signage in order to comply with traffic safety requirements.
• Correctly documenting street sweeper operations.
• Managing crews that clean streets.

Eligibility Criteria/About the Candidate

• A certificate or diploma from an accredited high school.
• Valid commercial driver’s license required.
• Proficient in executing street cleaning operations.
• Exceptional skill in operating specialized machinery and tools.
• Proven track record of safe driving and proficiency behind the wheel.
• Competence to operate in any climate.
• Skill in performing routine maintenance on vehicles and other standard equipment.
• Thorough familiarity with traffic safety legislation and safe operating procedures.
