The Shooting Sports Specialists Team at YMCA Camp Greenville is looking for leaders with a passion for the organization’s mission. Members of this group will be responsible for supervising campers during riflery, archery, and other target sports. This position’s primary responsibility will be to ensure that all shooters are provided with a secure and enjoyable environment in which to learn and practice safe shooting procedures. Through instruction and training, this group will also be responsible for maintaining all program spaces and supplies.

• USD 15-20 per hour

Job Duties and Overview:

• Responsible for supervising all shooting sports programs in accordance with ACA requirements.
• Keep records, perform routine maintenance, and inspect machinery as needed.
• Always stick to standard operating procedure by keeping things light and enjoyable.
• Camp counselors and participants must be monitored at all times during organized activities
• Create a fantastic experience for all campers/guest in program area.
• The ability to collaborate with people of many walks of life.
• Help out the cabin leader team when they need assistance and fill in for them when they are busy with other things.
• Be an example for the other campers by acting with honesty, imagination, and caution at all times.
• Must handle responsibilities in a fun, creative, enthusiastic, and professional manner to ensure the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of campers.

Eligibility Criteria/About the Candidate

• Maintain policies regarding limits on contact with customers.
• Participate in and finish the necessary abuse risk management training.
• Follow all policies on the monitoring of consumers and the handling of potentially dangerous situations.
• Observe the rules of reporting.
• Carry out duties associated with managing the risk of abuse as assigned.
• You need to be at least 18 years old or a high school graduate by June 1, 2024, and you need to know CPR and first aid, or be willing to learn it by that date.
• willingness to participate as part of a team to accomplish camp goals.
• the skill to interact with campers and visitors from various walks of life.

   

• State 4-H, NRA, or USA Archery certification or training is required for participation in shooting sports.
• Age 21 or older is preferred.
