The Customs Bond Analyst’s primary responsibilities include client interaction and shipment/asset management. Additionally, this position is responsible for creating an overarching strategy for each account, including the validation of procedures and communications to guarantee that customer requirements can be satisfied within the framework of the current operational model. The incumbent is responsible for the timely and cost-efficient delivery of all client shipments.

Job Duties and Overview:

  • Evaluate and organize the logistical job requirements associated with managing bonded shipments for customers
  • Priorities should be coordinated when demand exceeds supply or affects operations.
  • Monthly development and analysis of internal and external performance metrics
  • Take steps to enhance customer service and see results.
  • To avoid fines, make sure bonds opened and closed out on schedule at ports and terminals.
  • To reduce the possibility of demurrage, it is important to coordinate between Canadian and US Customs to speed up the bond processing time.
  • Make sure any missteps in judgment or contact with the U.S. or Canadian Customs authorities have serious financial repercussions.
  • Make sure your clients follow the rules.

Eligibility Criteria/About the Candidate

  • Higher Education
  • Possession of both the Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) and Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) credentials
  • Any of the above could be designated as a valuable asset.Bonds must be sent to Canadian and American Customs.
  • Keep an eye on bond activity and organize customs inspections.
  • Facilitate trade by coordinating import paperwork between clients and their agents.
  • Discuss shipment details and carrier activity reports with Dispatch and drivers.
  • Maintain an accurate record of drivers and vehicles.
  • Changes and Announcements Made From the Outside
  • Control and coordinate cargo arriving via Canadian National Transport LTD (CNTL), Warehouse, and Mexico Rail.
  • Take charge of the CERS (Customs Electronic Reporting System) client portal.
  • Generate CERS declarations and submit monthly summaries
