The Regional Compliance Officer’s primary focus is on the MoneyGram agents located within their region of responsibility. The incumbent is a main compliance resource with responsibilities of: monitoring Agents’ Compliance and Anti-Fraud programs; driving training and awareness campaigns; and giving guidance and assistance to Agents. The successful candidate will also be responsible for assisting in the creation of Compliance and Anti-Fraud programs and for motivating Agents to implement or strengthen compliance and anti-fraud rules and procedures.

The Regional Compliance Officer will collaborate with other business unit representatives and act as their point of contact to ensure that Agent policies and controls are effective and fit the needs of the business while also meeting all applicable legal and regulatory standards set by MoneyGram. The incumbent is responsible for identifying potential hazards during the course of work and suggesting solutions to those risks.

Job Duties and Overview:

  • Responsible for carrying out, within their designated zone, the MoneyGram Compliance and Anti-Fraud programs, principles, standards, policy, and monitoring requirements.
  • Establishes norms and practices to reduce risk and improve compliance operations.
  • Keeps the program updated and running smoothly.
  • Discusses potential threats, current practices, and desired outcomes with a variety of specialists.
  • Conducts both internal and external data analysis to increase understanding of potential threats.
  • Shares policy objectives for area of responsibility and monitors their enterprise-wide implementation.
  • Helps Stakeholders have productive conversations about policy, risk, and controls.
  • Ensures the goals of the policy are met.
  • Provides guidance and assistance to the Regional company through participation in new product/service or channel projects.
  • Helps with verification processes for Agents.
  • Agents in the region can count on them for advice, policy interpretation, and assistance.
  • Takes an active role, if needed, in governance and risk committee meetings and in talks with senior management about risk.
  • Content messaging for newly implemented policies is provided.
  • Verifies that course materials meet the requirements set forth in the policy.
  • Offers courses for Agents and staff.
  • Carries out supplementary tasks as required.

Eligibility Criteria/About the Candidate

  • Minimum of three to five years’ experience working in the financial services sector.

  • The capacity to work with internal business partners and Agents on a global scale.
  • Capability to work alone and from a distance.
  • Proven familiarity with MoneyGram’s operations, structure, and general policies and procedures.
  • Proven experience writing mail and other documents of a legal, compliance, and business nature in a clear and professional manner.
  • Superb ability to think critically and solve problems.
  • Competence in listening to and addressing client concerns and providing excellent service are essential.
